|Chad writes: I wanted to share a few pictures of my 1964 L-74, (300hp/327ci) Malibu SS Convertible. This is a VERY rare car (possibly one of one). She came equipped from the Van Nuys CA. plant in June of 1964 with Ermine white paint, palomar red interior, black top, factory AC, pwr windows, pwr top, pwr, brakes, pwr steering, 7-position tilt wheel, optional PG, seat belts, dual antenna's, dual mirrors, factory tach, bumper guards front and rear... This rare survivor also came from the factory with a "partial VIN" stamped in the engine suffix which authenticates the L-74/327 belongs right where it is. In 1964 partial VINS were very rare and only stamped by GM on special high performance engine orders. There were only 1716 L-74's delivered out of 331,000 Chevelles built in 1964. I have been unable to find another Malibu SS convertible with factory air with this rare performance engine option. I've recently completed the frame off restoration of my L-74 Chevelle at my shop in Kalama WA. I look forward to sharing this unique piece of history with other Chevelle fans!!
